Reinvention: The Best Kind of Anti-Aging

Jane Anderson of Lake Worth, Florida, already had a thriving business when she discovered Arbonne. Looking to put her kids through college (at the same time), she started an Arbonne business to supplement her income. As time went on, she realized her career with Arbonne was limitless.

When a dear friend dragged me to a Discover Arbonne meeting, I sat with crossed arms until the speaker shared what she had done financially in less than a year. I already owned a public relations firm serving Fortune 20 healthcare clients — working 60+ hours a week — so the thought of taking on another business seemed ludicrous. But I needed to do something.

Four of our children were in college, and even though my husband had a successful design business and my business was thriving, our new requirements outpaced our income.

Arbonne’s business model appealed to me because I had spent years building my public relations practice, working many hours each week to reach a level of success and stability. Through my Arbonne business I had the opportunity to earn extra income, incentives, and world-class trips, alongside my other business. I could see that with enough time and effort, what started as a side business could afford me freedom. If I built a team and helped guide, mentor and train them, I would be compensated as their Arbonne businesses grew and their sales volume increased.

Initially, Arbonne was a way to add an additional source of income into our family, but in time my vision for what this business could do expanded big time. The limits I had placed on my life began to fall away and I discovered the real power of the Arbonne opportunity.

My biggest obstacle building my business was getting out of my own way. I had attended an ivy-league university and worked with national business clients for years, so I thought I knew everything, was stubborn, and not very coachable. Fortunately, I realized that approach was not working for me, and the only way to success was to be open to my upline’s coaching. At that point my business took off and I started to really enjoy the journey.

It is so easy to get caught up in what others think of you, like what if people don’t like me? What if I’m too old, too slow at this, too quiet? I realized none of that matters.

The business isn’t about me, but about the multitude of others looking for something to help them change their lives. By encouraging people to use pure, safe and beneficial products, they will live a healthier lifestyle and by helping them learn how to earn additional income, they will be healthier financially.

I thought when I joined Arbonne that I would find business partners and 100 consumers and be done with it. Not so. So many people need what we have, so I continue to share with others. Each Arbonne business has a life of its own and with proper care and feeding it becomes a vibrant, ever-expanding entity dedicated to helping others find the greatness inside themselves.

I was looking for additional income and ended up finding a new purpose. I also have found a second family in my upline, my sidelines, my successlines. Thank you to Area Managers Barb Gomes, Valerie Marion, Stacy Farber, Ana Melo, and NVP Toi Stepp who have walked this journey with me.

I am filled with gratitude and love for my upline NVP Lisa Danks, who has been a mentor, leader and friend. I would not have joined this business if I had not heard her speak that first night years ago and I would not have stayed when things got tough without her coaching and belief in me. She has shown me how to put others first and modeled that behavior. Lisa, you are a Champion and a four-wide ENVP!

To my Region: I love you beyond measure. I couldn’t be prouder to be in your orbit and cannot wait to see each of you earn your Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus, because we are building not one but many Nations on this journey. This is only possible because of you and this is just the beginning. This is your time Area Manager Ann Delgado and Area Manager Sheila Frazier to shine and lead.

Thank you to my loving husband, David, who has always been my biggest fan and supporter, my rock and best friend. I love you for helping me reach my goals and dreams just because you knew how important they are to me. And for making life fun along the way because it is so not a dress rehearsal.

To my children, Josh and Shana, who I love so much and who inspire me every day to be a better person. And a healthier one — yes I’ll go to the gym more! And give me joy beyond measure because you are my life.

To Andrew, Rob, and Niki for their love and open hearts. We may not have started out together but I’m so glad we are in each other’s lives.

To mom, dad, and my brothers, Cy and Vance, who are always in my heart.

Thank you to Arbonne CEO Kay Napier for leading us toward becoming a billion-dollar-plus global company, and to Managing Director Stian Mørck for carrying on his father’s legacy.

To those of you trying to figure out if you can do this, just know that if you can see this vision and if it tugs at you even a bit, trust that tug. If your life isn’t working for you the way it is now, don’t be afraid to make a change. Because truly, reinvention is the best kind of anti-aging!
