Jump In With Both Feet

With a growing family and a desire to do more, Zoe Allen felt like she was constantly on her feet, running around. This Oakham, UK, podiatrist was tired — emotionally and mentally. She was looking for a future that allowed her time flexibility and financial freedom. That’s when she realised Arbonne was the answer she was looking for all along.

I was introduced to Arbonne in February 2012 by then Area Manager (now ERVP) Fiona McCarthy. I was a full-time podiatrist then, working for the National Health Service (NHS) and in my own private practice. I tried the Arbonne products and Fiona invited me along to an Arbonne training day. That’s the day I joined. I learnt how incredible the products are and how they would fit in perfectly with my lifestyle.

I didn’t understand the incredible business opportunity behind these even more incredible products. I thought the business wasn’t for me, as I already had my own business and a toddler, and both kept me very busy.

A few months later, two things happened. First, I fell pregnant with my second child. Second, my oldest child Theo, who was two at the time, and I attended an Arbonne event. I was blown away! The Arbonne training event had me in tears (it may have been the pregnancy hormones!). All of a sudden, many light bulbs went off in my head. In my podiatry practice I was exchanging time for money and when I had to go on maternity, I wouldn’t earn anything. I reached full capacity in my clinic and was earning enough to pay the nursery bills for my son Theo, who I hardly saw. I also didn’t realise how stressed I was, working full time with a toddler. Mentally and emotionally I was not in a good place and didn’t even realise it, until I stopped to think. Then suddenly there it was, the answer to everything I didn’t know I was looking for: Arbonne. That night I made a commitment to myself that I was all in. I jumped into Arbonne with both feet, slightly terrified. I’m happy to say I haven’t looked back since and I’m now a retired podiatrist.

If I’m honest, the thought of building a team did scare me. I was used to being on my own, my own boss, working for myself, by myself. I didn’t know how or who, I just knew I was doing this no matter what. Then the next month, the first person I ever sponsored came into my life with a bang: AM Helen Walton. I was off, and we didn’t have a clue about what we were doing but did it anyway.

We promoted to Area the same month I had my daughter, Jessica. I’m pleased to say I haven’t had to miss a day in my kids’ lives since, and didn’t go back to work in my podiatry business after having Jessica. My family were surprised initially, that I gave up a career in podiatry to continue to grow my Arbonne business. I knew I gave up a career, but gained a life. I finally had time with my children and I’ve made some incredible friends who have chosen to walk this path with me.

The change in my lifestyle also inspired my amazing husband, ERVP Jon Allen, not only to make changes to his life so we could both be home with our children, but to join Arbonne, too.

Before Arbonne, I was shy, didn’t wear makeup, didn’t have many girlfriends or even any mummy friends. I’m now more confident, surrounded by great friends and I’ve even learnt to wear makeup!

If you’re looking for a change and a challenge, this is it. Arbonne is a lifestyle choice – an  incredible one.

To my Sponsor, ERVP Fiona McCarthy: Thank you for introducing me to this incredible business opportunity, Arbonne. It has truly steered my life in a different direction, for the better.

To my husband, ERVP Jon Allen: You’ve always been there for me, supporting me in everything I do. I don’t know what I’d do without you.

To my beautiful children, Theo and Jessica: I love you more everyday as you grow into incredible people, you are my Why.

To my mum and dad, Brenda and Bill Ward: Thank you for always believing in me and supporting me in every way you can.

To my brother, Michael Ward: Thank you for your continued support in everything I do.

To AMs Helen Walton, Alison Hutchinson, Candida Smith, and Laura Leggett. You are all incredible women and leaders, and I can’t wait to give you the keys to your Mercedes-Benz.

To RVP Daniella Wells: Thank you for being a trailblazer in the team. Taking this opportunity, running with it, and being the first of many Mercedes-Benz drivers on the Allen team.

To EDM Jemma Jones, IC Antonia Dowell, IC Fiona Carlisle, and IC Joanne Davis: I’m so grateful Arbonne has brought us together — friends for life.

To all the superstars in the Allen Region: None of this would have been possible without you. You’re amazing. You’re next!

To all my uplines and sidelines all over the world who have supported this team and me: Thank you.
