Before Arbonne, Amber Masikewich of Airdrie, Alberta, was an over-worked insurance adjuster looking for something more. After careful analysis, she gave up overtime for a better life with Arbonne.

When I think of my life before Arbonne, I think of a person not fully living. I had a vision of what success looked like and was moving full steam ahead, checking all the boxes off of my list. I went to school, got a well-paying job, and married my incredible husband, Rob. We bought our first home, took one vacation a year, and seemed to have our life in order. However, I always felt that there was something more.

Almost three years ago, a friend asked me to attend a Discover Arbonne event. I had never heard of Arbonne and was hesitant. I was skeptical, sitting in the back with my arms folded. My background is in insurance claims, and this line of work had made me desensitized, cynical, and jaded. I questioned everything, especially when it sounded too good to be true, and didn’t take anything at face value.

What first intrigued me was how the products are formulated with Arbonne’s pure, safe, beneficial philosophy. I was becoming more conscious of the products I used and wanted to lead a healthier lifestyle. I had always struggled with my skin and tried many products but never noticed a difference. I thought that if the products actually did what they were formulated to do, I would become a loyal customer.

I didn’t even think about the business until I learned you could earn a Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus. I was shocked because I saw five white Mercedes-Benz cars parked out front. I was even more shocked when I learned the five women who drove those cars were from different walks of life and at very different stages in their lives, yet they all were able to use their Arbonne business as a vehicle to achieve their individual dreams.

We all have hesitations before starting a new adventure, and this was no exception. I was working 50–80 hours per week. When hail storms, major fires, and floods happened, it was my job to work extra hours to respond to the chaos. I had no sales experience. I didn’t want to be known as “that crazy sales person” with my friends avoiding me. I had just spent six years taking university courses working towards my designation in the insurance industry; would I just throw that all away?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. This is what Rob and I were doing; working harder, not smarter, to achieve what we wanted out of life. We had turned into zombies going through the motions. We worked massive overtime to save for a vacation or to buy our first home. I dreaded doing this for the next 40+ years.

So for the first time in my life, I took a leap of faith! If I wanted something different, I would have to try something different.

For the first time I can put what matters first: family, friends and giving back. I fit my business around that. I have also met some of my best friends doing this business.

I am so grateful that when my friend called me, I couldn’t think of an excuse not to go. I know we would have still been friends regardless, but experiencing my life as it is today, it scares me to think about where I would be if she hadn’t asked me to look at this opportunity.
