Your Dreams Are Worth the Effort
Katharina Cser of Australian Capital Territory was presented with the Arbonne opportunity and passed, a few times. It wasn’t until she was exhausted and broke that the idea of network marketing sounded mildly appealing. Through research, she learned just how amazing this company and the products are, and she immediately jumped in.
I was 21 when I started my Arbonne business. I had a normal 21-year-old life of an Australian girl from Canberra. I worked full time in the public service as an executive assistant, was a dance teacher on the side, had a really busy social life, and was living comfortably off my salary. My life goals were to eventually move out of the apartment I was sharing with my roommate, buy my own place, enjoy a comfortable life, and one day have a family.
One day, I received an email at work that changed my entire life. My dad had been diagnosed with cancer. The next few months were total chaos. I had to leave work daily to take him to doctor appointments, radiation therapy, interstate trips to the hospital, and lots of overnight stays after various surgeries to make sure he was okay. As amazing as my boss was with me being so absent from work, eventually I had used up all my leave and was forced to take leave without pay. This meant that I was no longer able to save, was living literally dollar to dollar, and had zero time for myself. My relationship and friends were suffering. I was exhausted, broke and stressed to the point that I developed a back injury forcing me completely out of work altogether.
I had a breakdown and took myself to Bali over New Year’s to figure out my next move. I decided that what I needed was money because with more money, you have more opportunities, and with more opportunities, you get more choices, and with more choices you get more freedom.
When Arbonne was first presented to me I totally ignored it — 3 times. I wasn’t interested in skincare or makeup and had never heard of network marketing or direct sales. Carissa Longo was a 20-something-year-old executive assistant I worked with, and when she offered me the opportunity again after I had told her my resolution of making money but having no clue how to do it, I finally listened.
I was so skeptical that I researched Arbonne “undercover” for a month. I read every review on Google; studied economic trends, and network marketing and direct sales as industries; reviewed the company’s history, background, past press and media; looked into the formulator’s background; you name it. The one common factor I found in all my research was how amazing the products were.
My dad is a professor of sciences with three PhD's, so I took my research and products to him for his opinion. He explained the molecular structure of plant proteins and how they all work (which of course I had no idea about!), but he said one thing that made me jump in — “If it has a Swiss heritage, it’s got to be quality.”
I launched my business immediately, packing as much into my life as I could. I sacrificed things which were important to me over the short term knowing I would get it all back in the long term. I worked my business after work and on weekends, a few hours here and an hour there. In four months, I had matched my full-time public service salary. I dropped my work to three days a week and continued to work both my business and my job for the next 18 months.
I earned my Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus after 20 months and retired the public service. I moved to New York and now live a life by design where I travel between Australia and the United States working my Arbonne business wherever I am. I spend more time with my dad than I ever have and love every second of life, grateful that what I do makes a difference in other people’s lives. My passion is helping others, especially helping young women be brave, make a plan, work hard and create their dreams into life. I believe that whoever you are, your dream is important and you are worthy, no matter what anyone has said to you before or says to you tomorrow.
I have the most incredible team and could never have achieved any of this without them. You guys teach me so much about life, and I am grateful to have your trust and presence in my life and business. This is just the beginning!
