E Y E O N A R B ON N E EXECUTIVE NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT

An Unexpected Blessing

Her story is truly amazing. Although Scottsdale, Arizona’s Audra Berger never planned to start a business, she’s built one of the most successful businesses in all of Arbonne. Even more amazingly, Audra’s story proves you can grow this business from anywhere: She promoted to ENVP while in a hospital bed waiting to give birth to twins.

If you are reading my Eye on Arbonne story because someone has shared this business opportunity with you, I definitely urge you to take a closer look. I almost dismissed this business completely without researching it and without having conversations about it with successful people. But I am so thankful that 24 months ago I made the decision to take the next step.

When I first came across Arbonne, I never imagined I would start a business. But sometimes the smartest choice is to embrace the unexpected.

When my friend, ENVP Casey Simmons, handed me a gold bag of products and information about Arbonne, I had no idea my life was about to change in such a drastic way. The products gave immediate results and the information I learned that day was invaluable. I knew I couldn’t continue to use my old products. Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is future problems in the making.

Even though I started switching over all of our family’s products to safe Arbonne alternatives, I was still skeptical about the business. After all, I was not a salesperson, nor did I want to be, and it seemed that few people ever really succeeded. And on top of all that, I was a new mom to a beautiful little boy who was my first priority. But I did what I encourage everyone reading this to do — ask questions!

So I did some research, read some books and had incredible conversations with people who had already achieved success. Here’s what they all told me: Follow the plan, treat it like a business, and give it enough time. So I decided to start.

In January 2004, I began my business by introducing Arbonne to nine of my friends. They helped me get my business off the ground by letting me share the amazing company and products with their friends. I followed the plan and within one month found two business partners who also caught the vision — one being my sister, now Executive Regional Vice President Kenna McGrath. I promoted to District Manager in my first two months.

I was able to work Arbonne only part time, but I worked consistently throughout the next two months. I was focused on reaching Area Manager by August of my first year, so I filled my calendar with appointments, attended all the meetings and kept following the plan. I also went to our Global Training Conference (GTC) in April 2004. I stand by the statement that if you are serious about your business, you must attend GTC. I came home and went into qualification for Area Manager two months ahead of schedule.

The second half of 2004 was a slow and steady climb. But in December, our team’s vision was reignited. We scheduled 30, 60 and 90-minute appointments, showing people how to build an Arbonne business. Each of us focused on building a network of consumers, not salespeople. Regular people already their buying shampoo, body wash and nutrition somewhere else can switch brands and earn income by selling and using Arbonne’s products.

January and February of 2005 were incredible months. We were committed to helping everyone we knew change their circumstances, whether it was their health and wellness or their finances. To be successful in this business, you must focus on others. That was our mission: to teach and train people to follow the plan and give them the support they need to succeed.

In April of 2005, 16 months into my business, I became a Regional Vice President and held my car presentation celebration to receive my Mercedes-Benz. I had replaced my husband’s full-time income with my part-time Arbonne business. I felt as if I had reached the pinnacle, but my team was just getting started.

My team and my commission check continued to grow throughout the rest of 2005. In February of 2006 I was put on hospital bed rest due to a couple of overly anxious twins. This is when I learned, firsthand, that you can build this business anywhere! Despite my limited access to the outside world, my retail volume and team continued to grow, and I promoted to the top level in Arbonne, Executive National Vice President, while lying in a hospital bed.

Thanks to this business, my husband was able to quit his job for the next five years while we both enjoyed being home with our three boys. Now he is freed up to pursue his own dream.

Every year I’m in this business, I learn more about how to help others reach the top with me. I’ve learned that reading books and listening to trainings is critical to success. I’ve learned that you must have a big vision for yourself and for others. And possibly the most important lesson I’ve learned in this business is that success in this profession is about making good choices each and every day. “Discipline is the bridge from where you are to where you want to be.”

And after all of this, I’m even more excited for the next 10 years in Arbonne. We are on a mission and want everyone to join us. It’s time we pay it forward in a big way because to whom much is given, much is expected.

Thank you…

To my husband, Brett: I love being your wife. Thank you for telling me to go for it and being my biggest encourager. And thank you for helping me stay true to what I believe to be most important. I pray that this business allows us to live intentionally and bless others in return. I know you will laugh at this, but you are my best friend!

To my three adorable boys, Cade, Colin & Luke: I cannot express how much I love all three of you, and I am so excited for all the memories we are creating!

To my friend and partner in crime, ENVP Casey Simmons: What can I say that we have not already talked about on the phone? You are the best encourager and motivator I know! Thank you for offering me an incredible opportunity where I get to work with my family and friends.

To my sister, ERVP Kenna McGrath: One of the highlights of this business was handing you the keys to your Mercedes-Benz and celebrating RVP with you. I love that we are in business together and get to travel together all year long!

To RVP Brandye Rocca: You are an amazing leader and such a dear friend. I love you so much and know, without a doubt, that your time is right around the corner!

To NVP Anna Bowles: I am blessed to know you and love all the conversations we’ve had over the years. I will be your biggest cheerleader as you build a huge organization in Arbonne!

To RVP Rebecca West: Your passion is contagious, Rebecca! I am so glad this business has brought us together and I’m excited to watch your team grow and grow!

To ERVP Tammy Collins: Thank you for being such an encouraging Sponsor. I love that we are doing this together!

To ENVP Holly Warnol and ERVP Candace Nystrom: Thank you! I am so glad to be a part of your teams and to work this business alongside such amazing leaders!

To all my AMs: You are halfway to the top. Better pick out your Mercedes; the fun is about to begin!

To all my DMs: You will be here, too! This is a team effort and I am so thankful to each of you.

To all of the new business builders: You have made the first step. Know the opportunity you have in front of you and go for it!
