Be Brave & You Will Be Blessed
Morgan Crawford of Redwood City, California, found herself working five jobs and still unable to pay the cable bill. Starting an Arbonne business changed all that.
Prior to Arbonne, I moved from Billings, Montana, to Reno, Nevada, to attend college. I was a full-time criminal justice student in pursuit of a job in juvenile probation. I also worked as an intern and a professional makeup artist. My passion was working in the hair and makeup industry and working for myself but never thought it would be possible. So I went to college to get a degree. One day, a fellow makeup artist used the RE9 anti-aging and the makeup on me. I immediately fell in love with the products and the philosophy of pure, safe and beneficial. I called her the next morning and asked, “What is Arbonne?” She invited me to a Discover Arbonne Presentation where I met ENVPs Molly Geil and Kristen Walter. These women painted a vision of what network marketing is and what it could do for me. Instantly, I saw this as a career, a way to pay off debt, and an opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom in the future.
After that meeting, I realized I had a lot of dream stealers. I let their opinions stop me and those opinions became my excuse to quit. I decided to finish school and pursue my career. I knew that Arbonne would always be there for me and one day I would be back. I wanted the life these women and men had. I craved the freedom and flexibility and knew I didn’t want to be on anyone else’s clock.
Four years later, I revisited the business. I remembered when Molly and Kristen had asked me, “Where do you see yourself in five years if you keep doing what you are doing especially financially?” Well, that five-year mark was fast approaching and it had seemed as if everything was moving backwards. I had five jobs. I was working seven days a week and over 60 hours. I was the work crew supervisor for Juvenile Probation, a behavior specialist with kids with disabilities, and a professional makeup artist. I absolutely LOVED what I did, but I was working long hours and feeling unfulfilled. When we had to shut off our cable because we couldn’t afford a $150 per month payment, I realized we needed to change something. I called ENVP Kristen Walter to write me a letter of recommendation for another job and then she reopened my eyes to Arbonne. She introduced me to my now-Sponsor NVP Evelyn Bennett. Evelyn has locked arms and partnered with me every step of the way.
Will, my now-husband, always brought to my attention how I light up when I spoke about Arbonne. He was the reason why I jumped in. He saw the vision of the business and great opportunity for us to get out of what I was doing.
We liked the idea that I could fit this in the nooks and crannies of my already busy schedule. I built this business alongside of my full time schedule. It allowed me to quit several jobs after two years. Will decided he wanted a career change, too, so we moved to California. I still had a couple part time jobs as I was building my business. It served as a great way to meet people.
My husband and I have been so blessed to have been able to make a little extra money to pay off debt. It has completely replaced and surpassed the income of all five of my jobs. I have promoted to Regional Vice President at 27 and picked out my white Mercedes-Benz.
If you are reading this and considering Arbonne I hope my story has inspired you. I encourage you to go for it. Instead of saying what if it doesn’t work, ask yourself what if it does!
Looking back on my journey, I have so many people to thank. First and foremost, thank you, Will. You are not only my husband, but also best friend and biggest supporter. I am so blessed to have your love and friendship. Thank you for sharing the vision with me and being willing to make short-term sacrifices for us to get there. I cannot wait to share the life we have always imagined. I love you.
Mom and Dad: I know you thought I was crazy when I said I was doing Arbonne. Thank you for always believing in me. Dad, thanks for always letting me follow my dreams and being my No. 1 fan. Mom, thanks for being brave and understanding that life is not lived in the stands. I couldn’t be more proud to have you as a business partner!
My Sponsor, NVP Evelyn Bennett: I am grateful beyond words. Your strength, passion and fearlessness will forever be my inspiration. Thank you for being such an amazing friend and mentor to me. You’ve pushed me, motivated me, inspired me, breathed life into me, and were always there.
ENVPs Kristen Walter and Molly Geil: You’ve shown me what is possible. You are the best mentors I could have ever asked for. Thank you for showing me the kind of woman, leader, and Consultant I aspire to be. I am forever grateful for you and your friendship.
To all the future VPs on my team: Thank you. You each inspire me to become a better version of myself on a daily basis, and I am so grateful. I love sharing this journey with you.
