Focus on Opportunities, Not Obstacles

McKenzie Cartwright of Parker, CO, was nearing her 30th birthday and coming to the realization that doing the same thing over and over again was the definition of insanity. She wanted a transformation, but it wasn’t until she found her Why that gave her the push to change her life.

My professional story began in the sports industry. I also worked in marketing, luxury retail, and corporate event planning. Although I loved every position I ever had, I was 28, and it was time to take some personal inventory. I was starting to feel anxious that if nothing changed, my 30s would look exactly the same as my 20s. That is when I knew I had a phone call to make.

It was meant to be that my parents lived next door to ENVP Tarrah Brandsma. She was the only woman I knew that lived the life of her dreams. She was able to travel the world with her family and friends, multiple times a year. They never seemed stressed or were slaves to the hustle and bustle of the daily 9–5 grind. All I knew was that she did something, with some company called Arbonne, and I wanted to know more.

I called Tarrah in December of 2013, and that phone call changed my life. I had never tried the products, I had never attended a product demonstration, and I personally never saw myself in network marketing. But as soon as she showed me Arbonne’s competitive compensation plan, I was blown away by the opportunities. It was the first time I felt hopeful that I could be in the driver’s seat of my life again, and I instantly saw what was possible by adding Arbonne into my life. My goals and my Why for my family were to build this business so we could have financial stability and time freedom.

I had no idea if Arbonne would work for me, but I trusted Tarrah, I trusted the sales system, and I jumped all in. I was scared I would not know enough people. I was scared of what people would think, and I wasn't sure how I was going to work one more thing into my crazy schedule. But I believed with conviction that Arbonne was the answer to my prayers. Although it took me some time to learn the system and be coachable, I learned that success with Arbonne takes time, effort, perseverance, and patience. I committed to growing myself and my business with passion and enthusiasm, and I just kept putting one foot in front of the other.

When you follow your purpose, the right people, resources, and opportunities will fall into place. I learned not to take myself too seriously, and I learned that there were other people out there who needed and wanted this opportunity, just like I did. I learned how to be bold, gracious and courageous. I started to believe that the dreams in my heart could actually come true. I learned to accept rejection and treasure the yeses. I learned to trust God to fill in the gaps between where I was and where I wanted to go, and to push through anything that tried to stand in my way.

Through my Arbonne business and now as a RVP, my future is paved with new experiences, new friends, time freedom, and financial stability. I believe that having an Arbonne business can be the vehicle to achieve anything you want to achieve. I was able to work this business alongside my full-time career and my family, and for that I am eternally grateful to some very special people.
