Anchor Your Heart in Gratitude
Kristen Williams of Tallahassee, FL, was already on a successful career path and couldn’t see how Arbonne could fit into her plan. But when she let go of expectations and her fear of failure, Kristen transformed her life into one that was truly of her own making.
My favorite question to ask people is, “How will you feel if your life looks the same in five years?” Five years ago, it appeared as if I was living the American dream: married to my high school sweetheart with two beautiful boys, leveraging my MBA to climb the corporate ladder as an internal auditor, and busy volunteering in my community with a very full family and social life.
However, there was a constant burning deep in my gut telling me I was made for more. I couldn’t reconcile those thoughts with everything I was taught about how to build a successful career. When my husband Chip and I made the decision to move back to our hometown of Tallahassee, Florida, it was there that Arbonne intersected our life.
Like so many of us at first, I had no concept of Arbonne’s business opportunity. But I decided to try the 30 Days to Healthy Living program, and people immediately noticed my transformation. I gained energy, started living a healthy lifestyle, found health and wellness, and started spreading the word.
Then in an awesome act of faith, while still not comprehending the potential, Chip encouraged me to “get on that plane to the Global Training Conference and find out what Arbonne is really all about.” What I found was this amazing culture of positivity and leaders who shared the same corporate pedigree that I did. I was stunned. I launched my business and was determined to apply my work ethic and genuine love of others to Arbonne — and be fully present for my family.
Meanwhile, my job was eliminated due to budget cuts. While on paper it seemed impossible to make our life work without my corporate salary, that now-familiar tug in my gut told me that my Arbonne business could be more than a passion project, it could fill the gap. We stepped out in faith.
I experienced a life-changing moment at a retreat where I realized I had been playing not to lose my whole life, instead of playing to win. If I wasn’t assured success, I didn’t even try. Perfection, performance and self-sufficiency proved to be hard idols to release. Through focused personal development growth, I have learned to stop apologizing and embrace my gift of leadership, to be the kind of leader who people want to follow and make space for new leaders to rise up.
As we worked to complete Region, we failed to meet our goal to promote on January 1, 2017. I realized I could survive perceived failure. There was a greater plan, with our promotion date of February 1, 2017, being the anniversary of my father’s death. From ashes to life.
My family is now living a life of abundant choice. Our life looks nothing like it did a few short years ago, and I am in awe of the transformation that has taken place in all of us. Being open to the unexpected, I have realized that the gift of Arbonne has allowed me freedom to live life by design instead of default. After a lot of hard work and promoting to RVP, I earn a great income, even earning a Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus towards my beautiful Mercedes. But the best part is getting to live a radically inspired life and raise our boys with time margins in a home full of grace and love.
First, I must thank God: I am humbly dedicated to serving an audience of One. Too much is given, much is expected, and I am unequipped yet perfectly made to walk out this purpose in His strength.
Thank you to my husband Chip, my boys Meyer and Holden, and to my mom and in-laws for supporting me in this quest to bring health and wellness to the world, one family at a time.
To my sponsor ERVP Bobbi Peters: You patiently shared the products and the business. My husband I are forever thankful for your bravery and perseverance.
To my team of dreamers: You each have everything it takes to be successful in this business. Throw fear aside and step into greatness. You have each brought a unique personality and skillset to the business, and I am grateful for every relationship we have built.
To my clients: I am so thankful for your trust in me and this company, and for the Arbonne village that surrounded me on the path to reaching this goal.
To the team I have not met yet: I pray that my story will inspire you to step outside of your comfort zone and start your journey!
